As a winner of the a CEA Innovations 2004 award for the embedded/software category, PortalPlayer's audio jukebox platform is a powerful, base level platform for next generation MP3-type player/recorder systems, including hybrid systems combining CD and digital music player/recorders, and hard drive equipped digital music jukeboxes. It is the first in a family of end-to-end solutions from PortalPlayer, Inc., which will allow consumers to enjoy a variety of digital audio formats any way, anywhere, and anytime they wish.

The platform provides ODMs and OEMs with the necessary software and highly integrated, single-chip engine to build fully featured systems supporting multiple codecs, encryption standards, and digital rights management technologies.

The platform includes:

• PP5002 SuperIntegration™ system-on-a-chip controller;
• All necessary firmware to implement mass-market products, including licensed applications and the Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
• PP7002 Digital Media Manager application for Windows® 9x operating systems
